Greening Around Town > Armonk Hamlet Task Force

Charged with improving the appearance and functionality of the downtown business center, the Armonk Hamlet Task Force was appointed by the Town Board during the Fall of 2006.

The Task Force advises the Town Board with respect to various issues, including: types of new businesses that would enrich the area, actions that would encourage better handling of garbage and recycling items, and best ways to maximize available parking within the Armonk business area.

The Town Board recently approved a three part receptacle designed for deposits of waste, paper and glass-cans-plastic that the Task Force proposed. Michael Fareri, resident and local real estate developer, offered to purchase and install six of the tri-part receptacles as a donation to the Town.  These attractive bins will arrive soon on Main Street.  The innovative design will keep our hamlet cleaner, greener and serve as a model for other communities.
