Greening Around Town > Global Warming Task Force

Mission Statement

"To support, involve and inform our community regarding global warming; to acknowledge and learn from those already taking action; and to coordinate efforts to reduce our ‘carbon footprint' toward improving the health of our planet for future generations."

About Us

The Global Warming Task Force(GWTF) was formed in September, 2007. Since that time, the group has held a public meeting to solicit feedback from the community, participated in a 'Step It Up' day of action on Main Street in Armonk to raise awareness, launched a film screening series and developed an expansion of the Waste Wise April program at Crittenden Middle School, enabling hundreds of local families to evaluate the impact of waste on global warming.

The Task Force hopes to engage more residents and businesses in taking action to reduce their carbon footprint. Community volunteers are invited to contact Sharon Tomback at stomback@northcastleny.com or 273-3001.
