Tax Payment Information

Click here for more information on paying your taxes online.

If your taxes are not paid through an escrow account and you do not receive your tax bill within the first few days of the collection month, (April and/or September), please notify the Tax Receiver’s office immediately.

The bill you receive in September will have two payment coupons attached. The appropriate coupon should accompany your tax payment. We do not send a duplicate bill for the January tax payment so we suggest that you register for e-bills, this will ensure that you receive an email reminder for the second half. This reminder is generated mid-December for those of you who prefer paying taxes within the calendar year.

If you are moving and are in a water district, please contact either the Tax Receiver’s office (914) 273-6620 or our Water Department at (914) 273-1882 to arrange for a “Final Meter Reading” as a final bill must be generated and paid prior to or at your closing.

Tax payments must be in the Tax Receiver’s Office by 4:30 p.m. on the last day of the tax collection month. To avoid any possibility of delay by mail, we suggest that if payment of taxes is to be made within the last few days of the month in which due, make certain that it is either hand delivered to the tax office or that you witness a timely official United States postmark being affixed to the envelope. Please know that office meters and foreign postmarks are not acceptable when received after the due date. If these deadlines are not met, the payment is considered late and subject to penalty.

If the last day of collection falls on a weekend, we extend the penalty free period to the following business day.

New York State law provides that a Municipality cannot waive penalties on tax payments received after the due date for any reason. Unless as stated above, falls on a weekend.

When paying in cash, please bring the exact amount as we cannot make change.

All Liens MUST be satisfied via Certified Funds; Certified or Bank Checks. No exceptions.
