Come join the soccer revolution. All your friends are likely to be here and our new program promises to be even more fun. With over 900 kids in our recreational and travel programs we are the largest organized activity in North Castle. This winter the Armonk Soccer Club and Armonk AYSO agreed to combine the two programs to form a single club, North Castle Soccer Club, within which all children will be given program options for both recreational and travel, to suit their specific needs. North Castle Soccer Club will be operational for the fall 2008 and will focus on improving the experience for all children wanting to play soccer.

About the existing Programs
For over 40 years, AYSO Soccer (www.armonkayso.net) has provided a quality program for all children interested in learning and playing soccer. Our program is a not-for-profit community soccer program open to all children in the community age 4 and older (must be born before 8/1/03). Everyone plays, the teams are single sex (4 year olds are co-ed) and balanced, and there are no tryouts. Teams are run by Certified Parent Coaches and assisted by professional soccer trainers. The recreational program is an excellent entry point for players into soccer. With over 700 kids in the program this is a wonderful community experience, for the kids and the parents. Since the organization is run by parent volunteers, there is an abundance of opportunities to get involved.
The Armonk Soccer Club (www.armonksoccer.org) (ASC) is the WYSL chartered soccer organization for the Town of North Castle. It is a not-for-profit community based organization that provides youth travel soccer programs for school grades 4 through 8, for over 200 children. Teams are filled based on competitive try-outs that occur in late spring/early summer. ASC promotes teams coached by professional coaches and managed by parents, and aims to maintain an exemplary program wherein children may develop into young adults.

NORTH CASTLE CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL (NCCCC)
After 9/11, communities across this nation understood that government alone couldn’t protect its citizens. To truly meet security needs, local action is required-and that means volunteers.
The NCCCC now has over sixty volunteers from our community, including a substantial number of medical and mental health professionals. The Red Cross has trained the volunteers in emergency and disaster preparedness. Volunteers are currently training to operate a shelter in the town, which will be utilized if a significant event displaces a large number of residents from their homes. The NCCCC is a member of the Town’s Emergency Preparedness Committee.
The NCCCC’s website is www.nc-ccc.org.
Volunteers may be of any age and will receive training from the Red Cross and other governmental agencies that offer emergency and disaster preparedness courses. Every North Castle resident is encouraged to participate. For information on how to volunteer or for more information, please contact the NCCCC Chairperson, Michael Schiliro, at 273-9361, or the Treasurer Ann Dantzig at 273-8049 or the Corresponding Secretary Anne Lagotte at 273-4543.
