WALKING WITH SENIORS

Join other Seniors for a weekly exercise walk. Walk at your own pace and enjoy the company of other Seniors. Benches are available along the walkways for rest periods if needed. Dress appropriately and wear sturdy walking shoes. Program #235905 A or B.

GETTING YOUR ROSES READY FOR SPRING

It’s not too early to think about tending to the roses in your garden. This class, designed for the novice and more experienced gardener, will help take the mystery out of when to prune all types of garden roses. Proper pruning techniques to encourage repeat blooms will be demonstrated as we examine climbers, old garden roses, David Austin’s, hybrid teas and floribundas. Program #235903C.

SENIOR EXERCISE

Especially designed with Seniors in mind, this class uses a combination of exercises for a total body workout using both seated and standing exercises to increase muscle strength while improving bone density and increasing flexibility and joint mobility. MODIFIED BOOT CAMP FOR SENIORS

Our Senior Boot Camp program is one of the few available that is addressing the problems that inactivity causes as we age. A series of stretching, strength and balance exercises utilizing body weight resistance and circuit training will start you on the road to a healthier you. The challenge and motivation that Boot Camp gives has brought new life and levels of health to everyone who participates. The Senior Activities Programs listed are available for all North Castle residents, age 60 and older. In addition, all resident seniors may register for most Adult programs at a 20% discount. To register call 273-2944.
SENIORS DROP-IN CENTERS
Hergenhan Recreation Center, Armonk
Mondays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm
North Castle Community Center, No. White Plains
Wednesdays and Fridays from 11:00am – 3:00pm
Our senior drop-in centers offer fellowship, companionship and activities for senior residents age 60 and older. Activities include ceramics, yoga, book club, arts and crafts, bingo, cards, films, clay, computers, knitting, music, walking, guest speakers, trips and parties.
Senior Transportation is available four days a week to transport seniors to our drop-in centers. Local shopping is available on Thursdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Please call 273-2944 or 438-5629 for information.
