Recycle most plastics numbered #1-6. Place with commingled recycling.

 

THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS!

  • Plastic bags and plastic film cannot be recycled with commingled recycling. Plastic film and plastic bags (including dry cleaning bags, zip lock bags with "zipper" removed, newspaper bags, and carry out bags) can be brought to CVS or local supermarket for recycling. New York State law requires these stores to have recycling containers for plastic bags. Bags must be clean and empty.
  • Styrofoam is usually labeled 6, but cannot be recycled at all
