Any prescription or OTC pills, lliquids, ointments and lotions as well as pet medications can be brought to the Westchester County Household Material Recovery Facility located at Grasslands Campus, 15 Woods Road, Valhalla. The HMRF accepts medications one day per month. Go to the website to book an appointment to drop off the meds or call the Westchester County Recycling Helpline at (914) 813-5425. A small fee will be assessed to residents of North Castle.

 

In addition, participating police departments throughout Westchester County run take-back days. Call your local police department to find out schedules. There is a drop box at the North Castle Police Department where any prescription or OTC pills may be brought.

 

All items must be brought in its original container or bottle. If the original container or bottle is not available, put the meds in a resealable plastic bags.

 

Medical sharps are NOT accepted. Bring medical sharps to a hospital or nursing home that accepts them.

This material is hazardous waste and must be disposed of properly. This item cannot be placed with your waste for pickup.
