Brush Program
- Please NO metal, plastic, wooden split rail fencing or any other object in brush piles as this will injury our employees and damage our equipment.
- Regular monthly brush pickup occurs March 6th through May 26th and September 4th through December 1st. For brush pickup at any time of the year, you must make an appointment by calling (914) 273-3000 x45 or click here to email the Highway Department. You can also click here to see the calendar.
- Place brush at curb with ends facing the road.
- Branches cannot be longer than 4 feet and no greater than 4 inches in diameter.
- Brush piles cannot be taller than 4 feet and no wider than 30 feet.
- Only one brush pile per household, per month, will be picked up.
- The brush chipper is in your zone one week every month.
- Brush must be at curbside by the Monday of your pick up week and not earlier than one week prior to your pick up week.
- Whole trees, logs, stumps, building material and household debris will not be picked up.
- If a contractor or gardener prunes large quantities of branches greater than your monthly allowance, please arrange for the debris to be removed by your private contractor.
- Town code prohibits the Highway Department from picking up a quantity greater than 4’ X 4’ X 30’.
- Christmas trees will be picked up during the months of January and February please refer to calendar when we will be in your zone.
