Technology Committee

At its November 8, 2023 Meeting, the Town Board approved the dissolution of the Technology Task Force, the formation of the Technology Committee. 

Charter for the North Castle Technology Committee Adopted November 8, 2023

This charter provides a framework for a permanent committee to continue the work of the technology task force. The committee will be able to provide valuable advice and assistance to the Town Board on matters related to technology, and will help to ensure that the Town is using technology to its best advantage. 

Mission 
The North Castle Technology Committee (the Committee) is a volunteer organization that provides advice and recommendations to the Town Board on technology-related matters. The Committee's goal is to help the Town use technology to improve the efficiency of Town operations and the quality of life for residents and businesses. 

Duties 
To advise the Town Board on technology-related matters.

• To conduct research and make recommendations on technology-related issues.
• To propose and advise technology-related projects.
• To work to educate and inform the public about technology-related issues.

Membership 
The Committee shall consist of up to 7 voting members, appointed by the Town Board. Members shall be residents of the Town of North Castle and shall have expertise in technology, business, digital security, government, or other qualifications at the discretion of the Town Board. The Committee may also include junior non-voting members who are residents of North Castle. The Committee shall also include 3 non-voting ex-officio members: a representative from the Town Board, the Town Administrator, and the Town Clerk. 
 

Term of Office 
Members shall serve for a term of two years, and may be reappointed for additional terms.
