Police Reform

The Town Board adopted the Police Reform and Reinvention Plan at its March 24, 2021 Town Board Meeting.

Town of North Castle’s Police Reform Objective:

The Town’s objective is to conform with the Governor’s Executive Order 203, in an effort to enhance the processes and procedures of the North Castle Police Department, through a mutual exchange of ideas and eliminating any unintentional biases or blind spots that may exist. An open and transparent flow of information with the community will foster trust, accountability, and confidence in the objectives, operations and effectiveness of the North Castle Police Department.

It is the mission of the North Castle Police Department to enhance the quality of life in our Town by working in partnership with the community and in accordance with the constitutional rights to enforce laws, preserve the peace, reduce fear, and provide a safe environment.

We are a New York State Accredited Law Enforcement Agency, which only 31% of Police Departments in NYS achieve, thus our members are dedicated law enforcement professionals who work diligently to provide the best possible police services to our community. We respond when called and in addition, provide a number of programs to help us attain our goal to serve the residents and visitors to our community.
