If the furniture is gently used and in good repair (and not excessively large), contact a local charity to donate. Another alternative is the Salvation Army. You can call to schedule a pick up of your furniture.

The Salvation Army will accept appliances, clothing, household goods, and cars. Their stores are located in: Port Chester, New Rochelle, Peekskill and Yonkers.

Or, you may consider Goodwill.

There is a Store Donation Center in Elmsford, call 914-347-4376 for donation guidelines. Goodwill accepts clothes, household goods, cars and some computer e-waste. Go to the Goodwill Site for more information.

Metal lawn furniture can be brought to a scrap metal recycler, such as RB Scrap Iron. Go to RB Scrap Iron for hours and directions.

Junkluggers accepts all your junk for recycling, donation or as simple junk. Call 800-584-5865 for detail and for pick up appointments.

If your furniture cannot be donated, you may consider it waste. Call Suburban for a bulk and large item pick up:
  • Refers to household items only. Bulk and large items must not be wider than 4 feet.
  • Must be at the curb by 7 am
  • Residents must call Suburban Carting at 914-698-4300 before placing items at curbside.
  • No pickup during holiday weeks.
  • Shall not be placed at curbside earlier than 3 days prior to your pickup day.
