Planning Board
In the Town of North Castle, the Planning Board is responsible for the review and approval of all applications concerning site plans, subdivisions and lot line changes; some applications concerning special use permits, wetlands permits and tree removal permits; and the environmental review of those applications over which it has jurisdiction.

Architectural Review Board (ARB)
The ARB reviews all major new commercial and residential buildings as well as renovation projects to make sure they comply with certain aesthetic and visual standards before a building permit is issued.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals hears and rules on appeals from decisions by the Building Inspector, Planning Board and Architectural Review Board.

Conservation Board
The Board provides information to residents for the protection of open space, water resources, erosion control, tree preservation and wildlife conservation.

Board of Ethics
The Board of Ethics renders advisory opinions to officers, employees, and appointees of the Town of North Castle.

Board of Assessment Review
Board members are appointed to five year terms and meet annually on Grievance Day (3rd Tuesday in June) to hear assessment complaints.

Housing Board
The Town Board established the Housing Board in the early 1990's with the charge to administer middle income unit (MIU) housing requirements as established in the Town Code and to promulgate rules and regulations as may be necessary to implement such requirements.

Library Board
The Library Board of Trustees establishes the policies for the Library, presents an annual budget to the Town Board, and works with Library Director to improve the services provided to the community.

Parks & Recreation Advisory Board
The mandate of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is to advise Town officials and agencies in all matters, present and future, concerning parks and recreation in North Castle.

Sustainability Committee
The mission of the North Castle Sustainability Committee is to empower our community to achieve environmental sustainability through education, collaboration, and action. We strive to guide and support initiatives that promote responsible resource management, waste reduction, and environmental protection.

Residential Project Review Committee (RPRC)
The RPRC was created to streamline the residential review process by having the RPRC quickly review incoming residential projects and permit projects determined to have no impact to proceed and to direct more complicated projects to the appropriate review board.

Open Space Committee
The Committee is charged with working with Town officials on multiple fronts.

Beautification Committee
The Beautification Committee was created for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing the natural beauty, cleanliness, and general appearance of the open space and streetscapes of the Town of North Castle.

Landmarks Preservation Committee
The Landmarks Preservation Committee (LPC) is responsible for nominating historical and other special property for designation as landmarks, so that they can be safeguarded for future generations. Such nominations are subject to approval by the Town Board.

Elijah Miller House Committee
The Elijah Miller House Committee was established by the Town Board on April 13, 2005. The Committee is tasked with advising and educating Town Board members regarding the history of the house and property and suggesting possibilities for enabling the County to save the 1738 / 1770 house museum located on Virginia Road and the park located on McDougal Drive in North Castle.

North Castle Revolutionary War 250
The goal of the NCRW250th will be to inspire pride, unity, and a deeper understanding and appreciation of the nation's revolutionary war and the role the residents and the Town of North Castle had in the success of the war in gaining our American independence.

Road Naming Committee
The North Castle Town Board created the Road Naming Committee (RNC) to ensure the integrity of new street names.

Long Pond Park District Advisory Committee
The Town Board shall appoint an Advisory Committee to advise it regarding matters relevant to the Town Board’s authority with respect to the water body known as Long Pond and the appurtenances thereto encompassed by the Long Pond Park District.

North Castle Citizen Corps Council (NC4)
When a disaster or emergency strikes, a community responds according to a plan. One element within the designated organizations that poses a challenge is the system’s capacity to effectively utilize volunteers.

North Castle Police Reform
The Town’s objective is to conform with the Governor’s Executive Order 203, in an effort to enhance the processes and procedures of the North Castle Police Department, through a mutual exchange of ideas and eliminating any unintentional biases or blind spots that may exist.

Technology Committee
At its November 8, 2023 Meeting, the Town Board approved the dissolution of the Technology Task Force, the formation of the Technology Committee and the adoption of it's Charter.
