North Castle High School Internship Program

Location: Town Hall & Various Town Departments, North Castle, NY

Internship Sessions:  Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 

Time Commitment: 6–12 hours per week (flexible schedule)

Type: Unpaid, Educational Internship

Open to: North Castle residents who are Rising Juniors & Seniors 

 

About the Program

The North Castle High School Internship Program offers local students a unique opportunity to explore careers in public service. Interns will rotate through departments such as the Town Clerk’s Office, Planning, Parks & Recreation, Library, Police, Building Department, and more. Students will gain real-world experience, work with professionals in local government, and participate in projects that make a difference in the community.

 

Key Responsibilities: (Tasks will vary by department)

  • Shadow department staff and attend meetings
  • Participate in hands-on projects and tasks
  • Complete a short reflection journal
  • Present a final takeaway or project summary

 

Ideal Candidate:

  • Curious, responsible, and enthusiastic about local government
  • Interested in public service, community planning, law, finance, recreation, or civic leadership
  • Able to follow directions and maintain confidentiality
  • Willing to commit to scheduled hours and complete program requirements
