About the Program
The North Castle High School Internship Program offers local students a unique opportunity to explore careers in public service. Interns will rotate through departments such as the Town Clerk’s Office, Planning, Parks & Recreation, Library, Police, Building Department, and more. Students will gain real-world experience, work with professionals in local government, and participate in projects that make a difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities: (Tasks will vary by department)
- Shadow department staff and attend meetings
- Participate in hands-on projects and tasks
- Complete a short reflection journal
- Present a final takeaway or project summary
Ideal Candidate:
- Curious, responsible, and enthusiastic about local government
- Interested in public service, community planning, law, finance, recreation, or civic leadership
- Able to follow directions and maintain confidentiality
- Willing to commit to scheduled hours and complete program requirements
