If your books are current, there are several sites to consider: - BHHS Library: BHHS Library is accepting book donations. For fiction, not more than 7 years old. Classics are accepted. The following popular authors are also accepted: Alice Walker, Amy Tan, Cormac McCarthy, Isabel Allende, Margaret Attwood, Paul Auster, Philip Roth, Tom Wolfe, Toni Morrison, Truman Capote, Jack Kerouac.
Please feel free to drop off books at the library Monday through Friday from 9 am to 1 pm. - Green Textbooks: Accepts textbooks up to 20 years old. Check site for details.
- Stuffed Animals for Emergencies (SAFE): This not-for-profit will accept gently used stuffed animals, toys, children's books and baby blankets that are clean and in good condition. SAFE cleans the stuffed animals, toys, books and blankets and delivers them to children in emergency situations or donates them to other children's organizations, military organizations, libraries and nursing homes. This is a mail-in program.
