The Bicycle Patrol Unit of the North Castle Police Department was formed in May 1998.
Lieutenant Thomas McCormack is the Unit Commander and an instructor for certifying officers.
Utilizing bicycles specifically designed for police use, members of the Bicycle Patrol Unit are assigned to patrol downtown Armonk and the surrounding area during various times of the year to address quality of life issues. The Bicycle Patrol Unit is also utilized for a variety of special events throughout the Town in order to maintain a police presence and to help ensure the safety of residents and visitors attending these events.
