Helpful Advice Regarding Alarms:
  1. Up-to-Date Information – Provide up-to-date contact names and telephone numbers to enable efficient and expeditious responses to all emergency/alarm situations.
  2. House Number – Make sure that your house number is clearly visible from the street so that emergency responders are not delayed looking for your location.
  3. Train Alarm Users – All persons who have access to your premises should know how to enter the location and operate the alarm including knowing the security code and the password.
  4. Local Key Holder – Provide the North Castle Police Department with contact information for two reliable local key holders who know your security code and password and who can operate your alarm device.
  5. Good Repair and Batteries – Keep your alarm equipment in good repair.  For those systems with battery back-ups, periodic checkups of the batteries will help avoid false alarms caused by power outages and/or surges.
  6. Alarm Company – Keep your alarm company updated with all of your contact telephone numbers.  Your alarm company will contact you if the alarm activates, and you will have an opportunity to cancel an alarm call and avoid false alarm fines before emergency responses occur.
