Marriage Licenses & Marriage Records

Marriage Licenses

A couple who intends to be married in New York State must apply in person for a marriage license to any Town or City Clerk in the State.

If you would like to apply for a marriage license at the North Castle Town Clerk's Office, please call the Office at 914-273-3000, ext. 42, in advance to schedule an appointment. We suggest calling at least 6 weeks in advance of your wedding date to schedule.

Although the license is issued immediately, the marriage ceremony may not take place for 24 hours, but the license is then valid for 60 days. Original or certified copies of birth certificates and current photo ID are required. Information regarding any previous marriages must be furnished, as well as the Decree of Divorce with filing date for the most recent marriage.

Fee: $40 which can be paid in cash, check, or credit card in person at the time of your appointment

More information about Getting Married in New York State is available on the NYS Department of Health website.

The Town Clerk can officiate your Marriage Ceremony. Call for appointment.
