North Castle Citizen Corps Council (NC4)

Mission Statement:

When a disaster or emergency strikes, a community responds according to a plan. One element within the designated organizations that poses a challenge is the system’s capacity to effectively utilize volunteers. Citizens Corps was created to coordinate volunteer activities that make communities better prepared and able to respond to any emergency situation.

The mission of Citizen Corps is to harness the abilities of every resident through education, training, and volunteer service. Citizen Corps is coordinated nationally by the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Citizen Corps is a vehicle for change that gives individuals the power to make a difference.

  • NC4, (North Castle Citizen Corps Council), is a group of North Castle residents charged under the Town’s Emergency Management Plan with providing shelter facilities when the need arises.
  • NC4 provides community awareness and education programs to assist Town residents in their preparations to protect their families in the event of an emergency.
